Such brasses find a lot of use in various applications because of their corrosion resistance and strength, their color and appearance, as well as their joining capabilities and ease of working. The normal composition of 63/37 brass is 63% Cu and 37% Zn.
Union Russian , CuZn37 is the major brass alloy for the cold forming process. Even though brasses with lower Zinc content have better cold forming properties, CuZn37 is the most used alloy. Reasons for this are on the one hand economical due to lower price of Zinc compared to Copper, on the other hand the forming properties of this alloy meet the demand of many applications
63/37 Brasses are copper zinc alloys with a wide range of engineering uses. The addition of zinc to copper raises the strength and gives a range of properties, and the brasses are a very versatile range of materials.
